CANTON, N.Y. - The William Smith College tennis team fell
7-2 to St. Lawrence in a Liberty League contest in Newell Field House
this afternoon. The Herons fall to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the Liberty
League.
The Saints (9-5, 3-1) lost just one game in doubles play to take an
early 3-0 lead in the match. St. Lawrence won 8-0 at Nos. 2 and 3 and
8-1 in the top spot.
In singles play, junior Hannah More won her sixth-straight match to improve to 14-4 on the season. She defeated Morgan McNeal at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3. First-year Alex Greenberg
collected William Smith's other point at No. 2 singles. She topped
Emily Wyman 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). The win was Greenberg's fourth-straight and
she is now 11-7 in her rookie campaign.
The Herons will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Nazareth. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
