Keuka College (7-1, 3-0 NEAC) will travel to Cobleskill next Saturday to take on the Fighting Tigers in a conference game.
Senior Matt Beebe finished with a career-high 10 points by scoring six goals and adding four assists in Keuka's victory. Brendan King, Ryan Waldron, Andrew Burns, and Dustin Springer each added a pair of goals. Zach Dempsey had a goal and three assists and Sam Cooper and Tyler Andrews also had a goal.
Cazenovia proved why they are the top scoring team in the conference by getting out to a fast lead.
Brandon Maxon scored a pair of goals for the Wildcats 33 seconds apart for the 2-0 lead two minutes in. Andrew Burns got Keuka on the board but Cazenovia followed that with a goal, making it 3-1. Keuka scored the final six goals of quarter, three of which were from Beebe, and the Green and Gold led 7-3 after the first quarter.
The Wildcats got the first goal of second quarter, but Keuka had the answer 35 seconds later with a goal by Ryan Waldron. The Keuka offense continued to click. King scored and that was followed by a man-down goal by Dustin Springer, his second goal of the game. Skowronski and Beebe each scored on the man-up. Their goals bookended the first career goal by Tyler Andrews. Keuka led 13-4 at halftime.
Andrew Burns opened the scoring with a man-up goal in the third quarter, Keuka's third of the game. Cazenovia scored three in the quarter, but Beebe found the back of the net in the final minute sending Keuka to the fourth quarter with a 15-7 lead.
The Green and Gold shutout Cazenovia in the final 15 minutes. Keuka got goals from Cooper, Waldron, and Beebe as they secured their 18-7 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory.
