Three US Ladies Land In Top Ten After ISU World Championships 2016 Short Program

Boston, Maine - Three US figure skating ladies Ashley Wagner, Gracie Gold and Mirai Nagasu landed in the top ten during the ISU World Championships short program on March 31st, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mirai Nagasu finished her short program with a score of 65.74 points, 10th place currently.

Ashley Wagner finished her short program with a personal best by scoring 73.16, sitting currently in 4th place.

Gracie Gold finished her short program in 1st place with a score of 76.43 place.

These three ladies from the United States will take part in their free program on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts.

 NEW PALTZ, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury baseball fell 7-3 Tuesday afternoon to the New Paltz Hawks in non-conference road action from Loren Campbell Memorial Field.   

Michael Cardino (3-for-4, HR, 2 R) homered for the third time in his career to give the Panthers (13-7) a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

New Paltz (11-6-2) tied the game in the second inning with Taylor Anderson's (3-for-4, 2 RBI, R)

SUNY Old Westbury Women’s Lacrosse erases deficit to claim 10-9 win from Ramapo

  OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com)  SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse (2-4) used a 3-0 run to close out Tuesday's 10-9 non-conference win over the visiting Ramapo Roadrunners (4-4) from Panther Park.

Danielle Weir paced the Panthers with three goals to post her fourth-career hat trick.  Sara Bey recorded a career-best five caused turnovers to go along with two assists (tied career-high) and five ground balls.  Natasha Treuman added two goals, five, draw controls and four caused turnovers while Courtney Gallagher totaled two goals, one assist and five caused turnovers.  Ashley Gugliuzzo (2-4) made nine saves to preserve Old Westbury's win. Old Westbury finished with a program-record 27 caused turnovers as Gugliuzzo was credited with the theft with 2:27 left.

Alyssa Tachon broke the scoring ice 4:56 in to give Ramapo the early advantage.  Lindsay Hughes followed with two of her three goals on the day to extend the Roadrunners' lead to three with 20:31 remaining in the opening half.  Shijuan Williams' goal at 10:12 ignited a 3-0 Panther run that included goals by Halle Johnson and Treuman to tie the game (3-3) with 5:11 showing on the first-half clock.  Hughes would find Beth McGraw with 51 seconds left to send the Roadrunners into the half with a 4-3 lead.

Following Hughes' goal that opened the second-half scoring, Weir answered at 24:23 to make it a one-score game.  Tachon replied with back-to-back goals to push Ramapo's lead up to three (7-4) with 22:20 remaining.  Old Westbury then used a 3-0 run with goals by Weir, Treuman and Gallagher to tie the game (7-7) with 13:15 left.  Ramapo scored twice to take a 9-7 lead before Johnson and Gallagher scored unassisted goals at 10:20 and 8:45, respectively, to knot the game at 9-9.  With 1:55 remaining, Bey found Weir, who netted her third career game-winning goal to send the Panthers to victory.

Jessica Meyers (2-2) stopped nine shots in defeat for Ramapo. 

WILKES COLONELS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the road Thursday (Mar. 31) for a non-conference battle against the Wilkes Colonels at 6:30 p.m. from Ralston Fields in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
