OSWEGO, N.Y. -- The No. 3/4 Oswego State baseball team
dropped an 8-1 contest to the No. 1 Cortland Red Dragons Friday
afternoon. The Lakers are now 25-5 and 10-3 in the SUNYAC; Cortland is
29-5 and 12-4.
Oswego's lone run came in the bottom half of the fifth inning when John Barnes
got a hold of the pitch, launching it over the right-center field
fence. It was the sophomore's second home run in as many games after he
smacked a grand slam in Wednesday's win over Cazenovia.
Brian Hamilton, Myles Kutscher, Mike Dellicarri, John Barnes and Collin Thompson all collected a hit on the day for the Lakers. Thompson was also able to snag a base on the day.
Brian Nolan
took the loss (4-1) in the outing for his first of the year. In his
five innings on the mound, he struck out four Red Dragon batters.
Brandon Schultzkie came out of the bullpen for Oswego and allowed just one hit over the course of two innings. He also struck out a batter.
