Oswego State: Career Bests Set; Boyce Breaks School Record

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Career best performances highlighted the 2016 Rochester Spring Invite for the women's track and field team on Saturday at Fauver Stadium on the University of Rochester Campus.

In the meet's first event, Morgan Bronner captured fourth place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 41:36.80.  Simultaneously across campus at the throws venue, Amanda Perri and Amanda DeSellems both qualified for finals in the javelin.  Perri, would go on to take 4th with a season best throw of 26.78 meters, while Amanda DeSellems captured 6th place in her first ever competition.

Lauren McNamara took home second place in the 3,000 meter Steeplechase, running a career best
12:10.13.  The 4x100 relay overcame a tense moment in the final exchange to take 3rd place with a time of 51.92.

In other top performances, Abbie Boyce set a new school record in the 100 hurdle prelims clocking in with a time of 15.71 seconds. She would then go on to take first place in the triple jump, with a winning mark of 10.98 meters. Freshman Rachel Meyer ran a career best in the 400, to take seventh overall with a time of 1:04.48.  Alexis Acevedo placed 8th overall in the long jump, stepping on to the runway, just moments after completing the 4x100 relay.  The freshman would late go on to capture her heat of the 200, placing 11th overall with a season best time of 27.40.

With two weeks remaining before the SUNYAC Championships, the Lakers will head out to St. John Fisher for one final tune up at the Cardinal Classic. Action begins at 10 a.m.
