ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Rochester Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team responded to a Bard goal in the first minute of the game with eight straight goals, and the Tigers went on to defeat the Raptors, 14-3, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

RIT improved to 6-8 overall, 3-4 in the Liberty League. Bard fell to 4-10, 0-6.

Bard freshman Marion Adams came out of a scrum with the first draw control and ran into the RIT offensive zone - it looked like she was going to to run behind the net so Bard could set up it's offense. But as she got near the goal, she darted in front and scored, giving Bard a 1-0 lead 33 seconds into the game.

The Tigers scored two goals 11 seconds apart to start a run of eight straight, and it was 11-2 at halftime. RIT outscored Bard 3-1 in the second half to win its second straight game.

Sage Sarkis (Honeoye Falls, NY) led the winners with five goals and an assist. Corinna Mandell (Corning, NY), Sammy Ward (Baldwinsville, NY) and Emily Livecchi (Rochester, NY) added two goals apiece.

Adams, Nicole Ellin and Alexandra Clarke scored for Bard, and Casey Witte contributed an assist. Dylan McDonald caused three turnovers and Jade Waring collected three ground balls. Kaylynn Tran made six saves.

Saturday was the last home game for Clarke, Ryan O'Connell and Leia Carey, who were honored pregame.

The Raptors have two games left, both on the road. They'll be at William Smith on Friday, then at Union on Saturday.
