St. Joseph's took an early 2-0 lead before Sara Bey found Natasha Treuman at 21:31 to slice the Panther (3-7, 1-1 Skyline) deficit in half. Bey then fed Danielle Weir at 11:28 after the Golden Eagles scored a pair of goals to make it a 4-2 game. St. Joseph's used a pivotal 5-0 run to go up 9-2. Old Westbury regrouped as Taylor Guarneri's goal with 3:53 remaining sparked a 4-0 run with goals from Bey, Treuman and Halle Johnson made it a 9-6 game at intermission.
Weir finished a pass from Courtney Gallagher to open the second-half scoring that made it a two-score game with 28:06 remaining. From there, Kristin Carroll's goal at 27:04 ignited an 8-0 Golden Eagle run for a 10 goal lead, 17-7. Treuman and Weir both added late goals to settle the scoring.
For the second-consecutive game, Weir finished with a hat trick (fourth of season). Treuman added three goals and one assist. Weir, Gallagher, Bey and Johnson each controlled two draws while Guarneri caused a team-leading three turnovers. Ashley Gugliuzzo (3-7) scooped five ground balls and made a season-high 15 saves in net.
Heather Ferchland led St. Joseph's with a game-high seven goals to go along with eight draw controls, six caused turnovers and six ground balls. Lindsay Ramos (5-4) stopped three shots to secure the Golden Eagle win.
MOUNT SAINT MARY KNIGHTS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home Wednesday (Apr. 13) for a Skyline Conference battle with the Mount Saint Mary Knights at 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
