Purchase, NY – Purchase College fell to visiting SUNY Oneonta, 9-0, in a non-conference men's tennis matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
Purchase's number one doubles team of Riley Damerell (JR/Rochester, NY) and Joseph Troop (SR/Yonkers, NY) made things tough on Oneonta's Michael Nelson and Nicholas Fox in an 8-4 setback, while Danny De La Cruz (JR/Bronx, NY) and Finbar Stuart (FR/Woodstock, NY) dropped an 8-2 decision in the number two matchup. Joseph Morris and Timothy Distler picked up an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 spot to give the Red Dragons a 3-0 lead over the Panthers to close out doubles play.
Oneonta would continue its strong play in singles action, taking all six flights, en route to its 9-0 victory.
Up next, the Panthers will travel to Troy, NY for a Skyline Conference match hosted by The Sage Colleges on Apr. 23 at 1 p.m.
