Women's Lacrosse Defeats Nyack, 16-4

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team defeated the Nyack Warriors, 16-4, Wednesday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 3-2. The Warriors fell to 0-1.

How it Happened
  • The Lions netted the first five goals of the contest.
  • With the score 5-1, Molloy ended the half with seven straight goals.
  • Redshirt senior Ali Pfeifer tallied three goals, junior Amanda Reyes, senior Michaela Siegler, and  freshman Abbie Bellport netted two goals, and, senior Brianna Wilson, freshman Kara Rosenberg, and sophomore Gabriela Cesaro scored one goal each in the first half.
  • Rosenberg found the back of the net twice, and Reyes and Wilson each recorded a tally in the second half.
Top Performances
  • Wilson tallied a team-high seven points (two goals and five assists).
  • Pfeifer, Rosenberg, and Reyes netted three goals each. Rosenberg also caused a team-high three turnovers.
  • Sophomore Allie Long made three saves, and freshman Serena Turco made one save.
Coach's Comments
  • "It was a good team effort and everyone contributed," head coach Tom Campolettano said. "We have to clean up some of our mistakes going forward. We look forward to our first conference game Saturday."
Looking Ahead
  • The maroon and white opens ECC play against UDC Saturday, March 9. The game with the Firebirds is scheduled for noon.
