SYRACUSE, N.Y. - New Paltz and Geneseo take the first PrestoSports women's tennis weekly honors of the 2021 season.
New Paltz's Onalee Batcheller has been selected
the PrestoSports Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week after she won both her matches at third singles this weekend against Cortland and Oswego. She won her match against the Red Dragons, 6-0, 6-3 and didn't drop a point against the Lakers, winning 6-0, 6-0. She also helped the Hawks to two doubles victories and second doubles, winning 8-3 and 8-0 against Cortland and Oswego, respectively.The Presto Sports Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week was awarded to senior Natalia Krol and junior Kylie Seiler from Geneseo. The third doubles team finshed the week with a 4-1 record. Krol and Seiler earned an 8-2 victory against Nazareth in the season opener. In the Mary Hosking Invitational, hosted by William Smith, Krol and Seiler lost their opening match but won three-straight against teams from Ithaca, William Smith and RIT, to win the B Flight Consolation bracket.
