BRONX, N.Y. —  Playing their first home match of the season, the No. 16-ranked Fordham University Rams survived a tough test against the No. 20 United States Naval Academy Midshipmen.  The Rams aced that test with flying colors, defeating Navy, 17-10, in Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-East Region competition at the Messmore Aquatic Center.

It was a penalty kick that decided the outcome, however, as the Beavers' Gracien Mukwa took advantage of his opportunity to give Delhi its first league defeat of the year. The Broncos are 2-1 in NAC play and 2-6-1 overall, concluding a busy weekend that saw them beat Northern Vermont Lyndon by a 5-0 score Saturday.

Golf Claims Second at Cortaca Northeast Invitational

ITHACA/CORTLAND, N.Y. – 
The Ithaca College golf team finished second overall during this weekend's Cortaca Northeast Invitational, which took place at RaNic Golf Club (Ithaca) and Cortland Country Club, on Saturday and Sunday. Ithaca shot a team total of 651 (+75) over the two-day event, as the Bombers carded 327 at RaNic during the first round and 324 at Cortland to close out the weekend.

New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team in partnership with the Office of Veteran & Military Services, announced the date of the annual Heinz Ahlmeyer Jr. soccer game, which will take place Saturday, Oct. 2 on the South Turf Field.

The Athletics, Wellness and Recreation Department named one of its most prestigious annual awards after Ahlmeyer Jr. who was beloved by all of his teammates and coaches. The Office of Veteran & Military Services will have a table set up prior to entry and will accept $5 donations that will go toward supporting veteran students at SUNY New Paltz. Donations can also be made to the Office of Veteran & Military Services, here.


The Hawks are set to face SUNYAC rival SUNY Plattsburgh Oct. 2 with the game scheduled for a 1 p.m. start. Along with honoring Heinz Ahlmeyer Jr. with former teammates of the storied 1965 men's soccer team planning to attend, SUNY New Paltz will also honor its 2021 senior class prior to the start of the game as well.
