How it Happened
- The teams traded goals in the first half and the contest was knotted at six at the break.
- Seniors Brianna Wilson and Casie Caiazza each netted two goals, and sophomore Kaitlyn Meyer and senior Molly Brown found the back of the net once in the first stanza.
- Redshirt senior Ali Pfeifer put the Lions ahead 7-6 early in the second frame.
- Stonehill tallied the next two goals to make it 8-7.
- Caiazza tied the score at eight with 22:29 remaining.
- The Skyhawks netted the next three goals to take a 11-8 advantage.
- Freshman Kara Rosenberg found the back of the net to cut the home team's lead to 11-9 with 18:41 left, but that was as close as Molloy would get as Stonehill went on to win 13-9.
- Wilson tallied a team-high four points (two goals and two assists).
- Caiazza netted three goals.
- Meyer scored her first career goal. The sophomore also caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
- Senior Emily Bauer picked up three ground balls.
- Sophomore Allie Long made 10 saves in the loss.
- "We played a sloppy game. We made too many unforced turnovers and bad decisions with the ball," head coach Tom Campolettano said. "We will work to fix our errors in practice and prepare for New Haven on Tuesday."
- The maroon and white returns home to play New Have Tuesday, March 6. The match with the Chargers is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
