Bronxville, N.Y. - The FSC men's tennis team earned a 9-0 shutout win over Sarah Lawrence in a Skyline Conference match last night in Bronxville, N.Y. With the win, Farmingdale State improved to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Gryphons fell to 0-3, 0-2.
In #1 doubles, the pair of freshman Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) and junior Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) earned an 8-4 victory, while senior Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and sophomore Elijah McCall (West Babylon, N.Y.) also recorded an 8-4 win in the #2 position. At third doubles, freshmen Colby Rodriguez(Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Chris Bannwarth (Babylon, N.Y.) rounded out the sweep with an 8-3 win.
In singles competition, Gaudio (6-1, 6-3), Maslak (6-3, 6-1), Beaubrun (8-5), Molchan (6-4, 6-1), Michal Hickerson (North Andover, Mass.) (6-3, 6-4) and Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) (6-0) all tallied victories for the Rams.
FSC next will play host to non-conference opponent Western Connecticut on Friday, March 30th at 1:00 p.m.
