Zimmerman '22 scores in men’s soccer 3-1 loss to Connecticut College



Hamilton College's Greg Zimmerman '22 scored the Continentals only goal in their 3-1 loss to the Connecticut College Camels in a NESCAC match on Sunday at Hamilton's Love Field.

The Continentals move to 2-4-1 overall and 0-4 in

the NESCAC while the Camels improve to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Connecticut College out-shot Hamilton 20-6 and had the edge on corner kicks 8-2.

The Camels struck first in the 24th minute with a shot from the left side just outside the box that went high into the right corner.

They scored again in the 38th minute off a pass from the left side across to the top of the box on the right side and shot it out of the keepers reach into the top right corner.

Connecticut College scored their third goal in the 58th minute off a corner kick that was headed into the net from in front of the goal.

Zimmerman scored in the 84th minute off a pass from Simon Hoke '24 down the middle. Zimmerman was wide open and took a few steps with the ball before tapping it in down low and into the bottom left corner from just inside the box.

Ben Ziegler '24 made five saves for the Continentals and Kai Haesslein '24 made one.

The Continentals travel to Waterville, Maine on Saturday, Oct. 2 to play a conference match against Colby College at 2 p.m.
