Noorwez Ties for Second at Cortaca Northeast Invitational



CORTLAND, N.Y. – After tying for 13th in the first round, sophomore Sufana Noorwez (Shrewsbury, MA) shot the lowest second round of any competitor at Cortaca Northeast Invitational to tie for second with a 156 two-day total. Noorwez shot 75, which was two over par and eight strokes better than her round one total of 82.

Hamilton's Maddie Hong won the individual title

after scoring 75 in the second round to finish at 155. Hamilton also won the team title with a team total of 635.

On the front-nine, Noorwez recorded birdies on the first and sixth holes, while adding seven pars. She went on to have six pars on the back.

First-year Hannah Levine (Woodmere, NY) improved to a 43rd place finish after shooting 94 in the second round for a 191 total.

Vassar continues the fall season next weekend at the Williams Fall Invitational from Oct. 2-3. Tee time for Saturday begins at noon and at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
