CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF DEC. 13

  • 60 MINUTES finished the week in the top 10, drawing 7.94 million viewers, 3.1/11 in adults 18+ and 1.1/05 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Dec. 19. 60 MINUTES was the week’s #9 primetime broadcast in viewers and #8 in adults 18+ (tied). 60 MINUTES was Sunday night’s #1 non-sports program in viewers. 60 MINUTES has ranked as a top 10 broadcast 12 times of 13 weeks this season. (Press Release(Watch 60 MINUTES)


  • CBS SUNDAY MORNING, anchored by Jane Pauley, marked its 595th consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program, according to

    Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Dec. 19. The broadcast delivered 5.0 million viewers with 802,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. CBS SUNDAY MORNING holds 50% of the three-network morning audience. (Watch CBS SUNDAY MORNING)


  • CBS MORNINGS delivered its largest audience since August and posted its best adults 25-54 ratings since May, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 17CBS MORNINGS posted 2.6 million viewers, 578,000 of them in the adult 25-54 demo, and 325,000 among women 25-54. The new morning program hosted by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson launched on Sept 7. In the 15 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is up +8% in adults and +10% in women compared to the previous 15-week period, which is better than the competition, NBC (+4% in adults and women) and ABC (+1% in adults and down -2% in women). Compared to last season, CBS MORNINGS has cut into NBC’s lead on the adults 25-54 demo by 10% and ABC’s by 13%.   • FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Dec. 19, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.7 million viewers and 465,000 in adults 25-54 for the week. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC +327,000 viewers season-to-date) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in both the adults and women 25-54 demographic. (Press Release(Watch FACE THE NATION)


  • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL delivered 5.1 million viewers and 850,000 in adults 25-54 the week ending Dec. 12. This season, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 27 years (since 1994) and with ABC since 2018. Compared to last year, the CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the demo gap with NBC by 29% and with ABC by 23%.   • 48 HOURS was Saturday’s #1 non-sports program with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Dec. 18. The broadcast delivered 2.33 million viewers with 388,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. (Watch 48 HOURS)


  • CBS SATURDAY MORNING delivered its largest audience since February 2021 and the tightest gaps with NBC and ABC since October, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Dec. 18CBS SATURDAY MORNING delivered 2.11 million total viewers (the best in 45 weeks) with 407,000 of them in the adult 25-54 demo. Compared to the same week last year, CBS SATURDAY MORNING is the only program to grow viewers as well as adults 25-54. Through 13 weeks this season, CBS SATURDAY MORNING is the only program growing viewers from last year and has closed the gaps with ABC in total viewers by 33% and by 10% with NBC.
