CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN” IS THE #1 SUNDAY SHOW IN TOTAL VIEWERS ON DEC. 5

SEASON-TO-DATE, “FACE THE NATION” REMAINS THE MOST-WATCHED SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Dec. 5, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.8 million viewers and 551,000 in adults 25-54.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public

affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC +320,000 viewers season-to-date) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

Sunday’s broadcast featured moderator Margaret Brennan’s interviews with former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek MurthyGov. Ned Lamont (D-CT), World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Technical Lead Maria Van Kerkhove, and President & CEO of Illumina Francis deSouza.

CBS News senior national correspondent Mark Strassmann reported on the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Senior foreign correspondent Elizabeth Palmer reported from Seoul, South Korea, on the global impacts of COVID-19. Chief political analyst John Dickerson offered his insight on the devolving sense of decorum in the nation's capital.
