Cobleskill, New York - The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team could not
overcome the high powered offensive attack of visiting Bryn Athyn
College on Saturday afternoon as the Lions outscored the Fighting Tigers
6-1 to secure a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory. The
loss drops Cobleskill to 0-8 overall with a 0-4 mark in conference play
while Bryn Athyn improves to 6-4-1 overall on the year with a 2-2-1
record versus NEAC opponents.
Cobleskill struck first in the contest when freshman forward
Todd Briggs, Mayfield, N.Y., Mayfield High School, scored off a well-placed cross form junior midfielder
Greg Hunkins, Old Forge, N.Y., Town of Webb High School, in the 27
th minute of the game.
However
from there the Fighting Tigers defense struggled to contain the
visitors as the Lions outshot their hosts 26-11 on the afternoon while
holding a 10-to-1 advantage in corner kicks.
