ONEONTA, N.Y. – The
Wells College men's swimming program opened its 10th season as a varsity
program Saturday afternoon, competing at the annual Hartwick Relays.
Collectively, the Express posted 14 points in its first action of the
season.
Wells earned its first two points of the afternoon in the 3x100 Breaststroke Relay as freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.), senior Keith Davenport (Weedsport, N.Y.) and Jordan Johnson placed sixth with a time of 4:11.89. Johnson, Heil, Davenport and junior Lucas Donnenwirth (Frankfort, N.Y.) later posted a time of 9:39.23 in the 850 Yard Crescendo Relay.
Freshman Arthur Brooks (Morristown, N.J.), freshman Brandon Sprague (Brockton, Mass.), sophomore Shawn Snell
(Hilton, N.Y.) and Heil later posted a time of 1:58.97 in the 200 Yard
Freestyle Relay. The Express also competed in the 200 Yard Medley Relay
with Snell, Brooks, Davenport and Donnenwirth completing the event with a
time of 2:17.28.
Heil, Sprague, Johnson and Donnenwirth posted a time of 4:34.79 in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay to round out the day's action.
The Express host the Lakers from Oswego State University on Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Wells College Aquatic Center.
