Hartwick generated a total 457 yards offense on the day, adding 53 net yards on the ground.
Mark Hackett had 11 tackles in the defensive energies, eight solo.

Morrisville State was the first to put numbers on the scoreboard midway through the opening quarter, as Benedetto connected with Jon Andrews (Harpursville, N.Y.) on an eight-yard scoring pass play to complete the 12 play, 59-yard drive for a 7-0 Mustang lead.

Early in the second, Jesse Astudillo (Wheeling, Ill.) hit a 28-yard field goal to extend the lead to 10-0 before Benedetto hit Samuel Diaz (Dansville, N.Y.) for the 18-yard passing score to make it a 17-0 game with 2:40 to go in the half. Diaz's score completed an eight play, 89-yard drive that started on the Mustangs own 11 yard line, and included a 48-yard completion from Benedetto to Mella midway through the drive.

Hartwick was able to put a score up on the board with seconds to go before the break, marching down the field as Garcia hit lead receiver B. Garcia for the 19-yard scoring completion to make it a 17-7 contest at the half in favor of the visitors.

In the third, Hartwick climbed within one possession as they recovered a fumble in the endzone for a score midway through the quarter.

Morrisville State responded two drives later after gaining momentum following a forced fumble by Carroll and recovery by Caleb Wright (Cortland, N.Y.) on the Hartwick 30. Within four plays, Pena capitalized on the Hawk turnover, pounding the ball into the end zone on a three-yard carry for the score, extending Morrisville State's lead to 10.

Within minutes, Hartwick again climbed within one possession, as Garcia capped off the 60-yard drive with a seven-yard scoring completion to Nicky Celestino, cutting the deficit to 24-21 in favor of the Mustangs.

With 1:23 to go in the third, Morrisville State again answered Hartwick's score, driving the ball 69-yards in just two plays to regain the 10-point advantage. Benedetto connected with Gray on two straight plays, including a 60-yard completion for the score on a roll out pass.

The final score of the third came with just eight ticks remaining on the clock in the quarter, as Garcia hit Tanner Williams for the 28-yard receiving score, making it a 31-28 ball game.

Neither team was able to find the end zone in the fourth quarter, but with 2:23 remaining, Hartwick regained possession on their own 30 and went to work in an attempt to make a late fourth quarter comeback for the victory. Three straight completions from Garcia to B. Garcia landed the Hawks within Mustang territory late in the game, threatening to score to claim the win.

On a fourth-and-five situation, Garcia hit Williams to gain the first down, and on the following play, carried the ball himself out of bounds to the Morrisville 14. On the ensuing play, Morrisville State's Carroll stepped in front of Garcia's pass and collected his second (and most important) interception of the game on the Mustangs four yard line with just two seconds remaining on the clock, sealing the win for a second straight year over the Hawks.
