GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse sophomore Julian Buescher
is this week's ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the
Orange to wins at Colgate and Duke. It is the first weekly conference
honor of his career.
Buescher had an assist on Syracuse's second
goal in a 2-0 win at Colgate last Tuesday. He registered his first
career multiple goal game at Duke on Friday night. Buescher started the
scoring in the 26th minute and then found the back of the net a second
time in the 46th minute in the Orange's 3-1 victory. It marked the
eighth consecutive match in which he has recorded at least one point.
In
the latest NCAA statistics, Buescher ranks 17th in the nation in total
assists (5) and is tied for 23rd in assists per game (0.50). He leads
the team in scoring (13 points) and assists and is tied for the team
lead in goals (4).
Buescher and the 22nd-ranked Orange put their
four-match winning streak on the line against Albany on Tuesday, Oct. 6
at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Syracuse goes back on the road this
weekend to face No. 2 North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday, Oct.
10 at 7 p.m.
