O'Callaghan Helps Carry Oswego to Victory

KEUKA PARK, New York – The Oswego State field hockey used five second-half goals, including three from senior Lisa O'Callaghan, to pull away from host Keuka College on its way to a 6-0 victory on Wednesday afternoon. Oswego's win improves its record to 2-6 on the year while the Wolfpack drop to that same mark.

It took over 25 minutes for the Lakers to break onto the scoreboard, but then they did it in droves. The first tally came at 25:36 of the first half and would prove to be the only goal of the period. Freshman Bri Sturdevant used a pass from Maddie Nelson and found the back of the net for her first-career goal. Nelson's assist was also a milestone, as it represented the freshman's first-career point.

After the break, Oswego widened its lead to 5-0 with a four-goal spurt in less than 11 minutes. It started with an unassisted O'Callaghan goal at 38:37 and was followed by Grace Rinaldi's score off a Dani Cronk assist at 43:16. Less than a minute later, O'Callaghan was at it again, scoring her second of the game from a Rinaldi pass.

Just over five minutes later, O'Callaghan would notch her third of the day, this time off an assist from classmate Emily Lange.

The Lakers lit up the scoreboard one last time at 63:24, as freshman Lacey White recorded her first collegiate goal with Lange registering her second assist of the contest.

Senior Grace Lombardi earned the shutout win in goal for Oswego, making two saves.

Field hockey will play another nonconference opponent before returning to SUNYAC play, hosting Elmira College at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
