KEUKA PARK, New York – The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost to the Oswego State Lakers on Wednesday by the score of 6-0 at a rainy Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Elizabeth Sherman made 10 saves for Keuka College (2-6). Lisa O'Callaghan finished with a hat trick for the Lakers (2-6).
The Wolfpack will be on the road on Saturday when they travel to face Morrisville State in a key
North Eastern Athletic Conference showdown. The meeting with the Mavericks is set for 12pm.
Oswego State controlled the play most of the game. They started out early, attacking the Wolfpack goal. Keeper Elizabeth Sherman stood tall for Keuka, who was outshot 14-1 in the first half, but the Lakers broke through midway through the first half. The game would go to halftime at 1-0.
In the second half, Oswego State continued to assert themselves. They once again totaled 14 shots in the period and found the back of the net five times. Keuka put a late rally together in the dying minutes of the game. There were able to work three corners and got multiple shots off, but could not score as the game ended with Oswego State winning 6-0.
The Wolfpack have a week off before playing their first North Eastern Athletic Conference game in program history. Keuka College will host Wells College on Sunday, September 27 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
