Field Hockey Blanked at Union

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State Field Hockey suffered a 2-0 loss on Tuesday night at Union (N.Y.).

The Mustangs equaled the play of the Dutchwomen in the first half as the two teams posted 6 and 8 shots on goal respectively. However, Union powered their way through the Morrisville defense, out-shooting the Mustangs 21-0 in the second half.

Union picked up their first goal of the game from Alexa Steriti, ten minutes into the second half. Sayyida Hasan picked up the Dutchwomen's second goal with 11 minutes left in the game.

Morrisville's goalkeeper, Liz Leva (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) turned away 12 of Union's 15 shots on goal. The team also picked up a defensive save behind Leva.

The Mustangs will re-group quickly as they head to Cortland State on Friday for a 4 PM game in their second SUNYAC contest of the season. Morrisville will then return to their home turf for a 12 PM game against Keuka on Saturday.
