Morganne Dick Named ECAC Division III Upstate Region Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week
Cobleskill Sophomore Forward Honored by the ECAC
Danbury, Connecticut - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced today that SUNY Cobleskill sophomore forward Morganne Dick,
Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, has been named the Corvias ECAC
Division III Women's Soccer Division III Upstate Region Offensive
Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday September 27th becoming the first Fighting Tiger women's soccer player to earn the award in program history.
The
sophomore forward helped the Fighting Tigers snap a six-game losing
streak on Saturday afternoon versus North Eastern Athletic Conference
(NEAC) rival College of Saint Elizabeth, posting a four-goal effort in
the team's 10-2 win over the Screaming Eagles. The Johnstown, N.Y.
native then had Cobleskill's only goal on Sunday in the team's 2-1
conference road loss to the Wildcats of Penn College of Technology in
conference play.
On the season Dick leads the team with five
goals scored and 10 points as Cobleskill is currently 1-7 overall
including a 1-3 mark in NEAC contests.
"Morganne had an outstanding weekend and is very deserving of this award," said SUNY Cobleskill Head Coach Bryan Cronkhite.
"I think this should give Morganne a lot more confidence in her game
moving forward and that it will also give our team some confidence in
our abilities as a unit in the weeks to come."
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Sunday October 4th when they host the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington in NEAC play beginning at 2:00 p.m.
