Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Match to Hartwick

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Hartwick College Hawks played spoiler at Morrisville State Volleyball's Senior Day Celebration, downing the Mustangs 3-0.

Despite a balanced attack, the Mustangs struggled to put their chances away against the solid defense of the Hawks. Hartwick recorded 49 digs in the match and challenged the host Mustangs at the net, recording four team blocks.

Courtney LaVere (Oswego, N.Y.) recorded five kills offensively and picked up eight digs defensively. Shania Shaver (Candor, N.Y.) also played solid defense, picking up eight digs of her own.

The Mustangs will take a hiatus from their game schedule for Fall Break. Morrisville will resume play at Keuka College on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18 for a NEAC Pool Play event.
