MORRISVILLE, New York – The Eastern College Athletic
Association (ECAC) announced its Corvias ECAC Football Players of the
week for the week ending Sept. 27, naming Morrisville State College
senior defensive end, Julian Serrano (Bronx, N.Y.) the North Defensive Player of the Week.
Serrano, who was named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week
Monday, led the Mustangs defensive unit in the 37-23 defeat of Buffalo
State Saturday for the college's first conference win.
In the contest, he posted a season high 15 total tackles, including
six solo stops. Serrano also recorded a half sack, registered three
tackles for a loss of nine-yards and had a pass breakup in the contest.
He currently ranks third overall in the Empire 8 in total tackles, averaging 10.3 per game.
The senior is a graduate of Global Studies High School and is
majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of
Julie Medina of Bronx.
