Anthony Bouchard Wins Individual Title at 2016 MSMC Invitational

Milton, N.Y.: -The SUNY Cobleskill men's cross country team recorded their first invitational victory of the season on Saturday as the Fighting Tigers posted a team total of 41 points to easily outdistance a field of 26 teams at the 2016 Mount Saint Mary's College Invitational hosted by the Blue Knights at The Hudson Valley Sports Dome on Saturday.

Junior Anthony Bouchard, Wantagh, N.Y., Wantagh High School, led the way for the Orange & Black winning his first intercollegiate invitational by covering the 8000-meter multi-loop course in a time of 27:38 to defeat a field of 148 runners.

Cobleskill then packed it up to round out their team scoring with: junior Zach Jacobson, Berkshire, N.Y., Newark Valley High School, placing eighth in 28:57, freshman Willie Griffin, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, placing ninth in 29:03, junior Joseph Fitzgerald, Washingtonville, N.Y., Washingtonville High School, taking 11^th place overall in 29:11 and sophomore Josh Foust, Averill Park, N.Y., Averill Park High School, finishing in 14^th place in a time of 29:18.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday October 15 when they travel to Springfield, Mass. for the 2016 Western New England College invitational hosted by Western New England College at the school's campus cross country course beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Three Compete At Hamilton Cross Country Invitational

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Three members of the Wells College men's cross country team competed at the Hamilton College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Hamilton College Golf Course. Wells did not qualify for a team score, falling two runners shy of qualifying collectively.

Senior Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) placed 107th out of 173 entrants, posting an 8K time of 29:47.7 after averaging a six mile pace. Freshman Antonio D'Arpino (Auburn, N.Y.) was second out of Wells entries, posting a time of 31:05.2, while classmate Ross Cobb (So. Burlington, Vt.) turned in a time of 35:03.4.

The host Continentals from Hamilton College captured first place as a team while Zakaria Djouma, a freshman from Mohawk Valley Community College, captured first place with a time of 25:12.6.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Oct. 17 as they compete at the Cross Country Only Championships, held at Seneca Lake State Park, beginning at 12 p.m.

Armstrong, Mingen Finish Strong For Men's Cross Country

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – Senior Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) and sophomore Tanner Mingen (Cypress, Texas) recorded strong finishes for the Wells College men's cross country team as the squad posted a ninth place finish at the Cazenovia Homecoming Invitational, held at Jamesville Beach State Park on Saturday. Wells competed against 11 other programs on the 8K course.

Armstrong finished 40th overall with a time of 30:16. Mingen finished just behind in 44th place, completing the course in 30:27. Freshman Antonio D'Arpino (Auburn, N.Y.) secured third place on the team (31:56) while junior Ky'aire Reed (Trenton, N.J.) turned in a time of 34:41. Freshman Ross Cobb (So. Burlington, Vt.) rounded out the point scorers for Wells with a 93rd place finish (36:06).

Competing against seven other North Eastern Athletic Conference cross country programs, Wells finished sixth. Armstrong finished 21st out of just the NEAC competitors at the race.

The Express return to action Saturday, Oct. 10 as they participate at the Hamilton College Invitational at 11 a.m.

Men's X-Country Places Third at Seventh Annual Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational

Janesville Beach, New York - Running on the course that will host the 2015 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Cross Country Championships the SUNY Cobleskill men's cross country team posted a team total of 95 points to place third overall in a field of 14 teams at the Seventh Annual Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational.

The Fighting Tigers were led once again by sophomore Anthony Bouchard, Wantagh, N.Y., Wantagh High School, who placed ninth overall in the field of 118 runners by completing the hilly 8000-meter course in a time of 28:38 followed by freshman Josh Foust, West Sand Creek, N.Y., Averill Park High School, who placed 12^th overall in 28:53.

The Orange & Black also received scoring efforts from sophomore Zach Jacobson, Berkshire, N.Y., Newark Valley High School, who finished in 16^th place with a time of 29:04, sophomore Joseph Fitzgerald, Washingtonville, N.Y., Washingtonville High School, who placed 28^th in 29:37 and senior Dan Fields, Lebanon, N.Y., Lyman Memorial High School, who finished in 32^nd place in 29:58.

Cobleskill will return to action after the fall college's fall break when they travel to Clinton, N.Y. for the 2015 New York State College Track Conference Meet hosted by Hamilton College on the college's cross country coach beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Men's Cross Country Wins Mike Woods Invitational Championship

MT. MORRIS, New York - SUNY Geneseo sophomore Isaac Garcia-Cassani finished second to lead the Knights to first place out of 38 teams at the 35th-Annual Mike Woods Cross Country Invitational at the Letchworth State Park High Banks Recreation Area course, Saturday.

Geneseo, which was ranked eighth in this week's national poll, totaled a winning score of 42 points to out-distance runner-up St. Lawrence (103), RPI (203), Hamilton (210) and Rowan (217) in the top-five. St. Lawrence entered the week ranked ahead of the Knights in sixth, while Dickinson was 23rd and RPI was 30th.

The team title was the 18th for Geneseo, and its eighth-straight.

RPI junior Benjamin Fazio won the individual championship with a time of 24:46.6, pulling away from Garcia-Cassani (24:53.1) and St. Lawrence junior Thomas Caulfield (24:57.8) over the last mile to earn the victory.

Geneseo junior Alfredo Mazzuca placed fourth (25:10.8), edging Geneseo alumni Tim Chichester '10 (25:11.3) in fifth.

Knights' junior John Panus logged a top-10 finish, crossing the finish line ninth (25:23.4), before junior Alex Kramer (25:26.6) and senior Sean Fischer (25:27.2) closed out Geneseo's top-five in 13th and 14th, respectively.

Senior Brendan Wortner (25:28.5) and junior Travis Briggs (25:29.3) completed a tight Knights' pack finishing in 15th and 16th, respectively, to close out the squad's top-seven.

Geneseo will will be back in action on Sept. 17 at the Rowan Inter-Regional Rumble in New Jersey.

Knight and Burke honored by ECAC

One day after earning ACC Performer of the Week, Justyn Knight has been named Corvias ECAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Knight, who won his 2015 debut at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday, completed the 8k course in 23:51.0.

The Vaughan, Ontario native led the way for the No. 3 Orange, which placed all-five scorers in the top-10 of the meet, including three of the top four.

Redshirt freshman Mickey Burke was named ECAC Rookie of the Week for his 35th-place finish overall, which was the second-best finish of any freshmen in the event.

Knight, Burke and the Orange return to action on Oct. 16 at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational.

Men's Cross Country Places Second at Hilbert

HAMBURG, New York – The Medaille College Men's Cross Country team competed at Hilbert College Tuesday afternoon, finishing in second place behind the host Hawks of Hilbert. The Mavericks collected a total of (41) points, finishing with an average time of (24:33.4).

Sophomore Mark Lancaster (Bergen, NY, Byron-Bergen) finished in third, with a time of (21:12). Fellow sophomore Avery Lewis (Buffalo, NY, McKinley) crossed the finish in a time of (23:57), which was good for seventh place overall. Sophomore Alex Clark (Fillmore, NY, Fillmore Central), senior Jaeyong Shin (Seoul, South Korea, Yeouido), and freshmen Will Grant (Lockport, NY, Lockport) and Malcom Clemons (Buffalo, NY, Maritime) also participated at Hilbert for Medaille.

The men will be back on the course this Friday, when the men and women travel to Lehigh Valley for the Paul Short Run.
