New Rochelle, New York - New Rochelle youth and young adults are encouraged to apply for summer positions through the New Rochelle Youth Bureau’s Summer Employment Programs. Each program operates 20 hours per week for six weeks during July and August and pays $15.00 per hour. The deadline to apply is now May 20.
Network Youth Leadership Program
This program provides youth ages 14 -17 with job readiness skills training and actual work experience. Income eligibility is required (a certain amount of program participants is not required to meet any income guidelines). Funded in part by local CDBG program through the Department of Development.
TANF Summer Youth Employment Program
The program employs income-eligible youth ages 14-20. All youth must meet
TANF income guidelines. Funded by the Westchester/Putnam Local Workforce Investment Board (contingent upon funding).
Potential Candidates Internship Program
Young adults ages 18- 24 will benefit from internships in governmental departments or local community-based agencies and/or programs. Proof of income required. Funded in part by the New York State Office of Children & Family Service and contingent upon current State funding.
Learn & Earn Program
Youth ages 14-17 can learn about potential vocations and more in these specialized programs. Proof of income is required. Offered in the following career areas:
- NRYB Girls on Fire Firefighter Program
- Mentors in Blue Police Academy
- Future CEOs Entrepreneurship Program.
Only one child per family household will be considered. Applications for all programs are available 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in the Youth Bureau office, 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle and on line at www.newrochelleny.com/youthjobs.
