Danbury, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced Monday that SUNY Cobleskill junior Ian Wilson,
Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Spackenkill High School, has been named the ECAC
Division III Corvias Men's Co-Golfer-of-the-Month for September of 2015.
Wilson becomes the first Fighting Tiger men's golfer to be honored with
the award in program history.
Wilson went on a tear through
September, winning three events and finishing as runner-up in two
others. The junior began the month by finishing second at the Johnson
State College Invitational, then followed that up by claiming the
individual title at the St. Lawrence University Invitational with a
score of 143. His two-day total set a new record for best two-day score
in program history, while his first-day score of 4-under 68 established a
new school record for lowest single-round score. After finishing in a
tie for first at the Utica College Invitational later in the month, the
Spackenkill High School-product closed out September with another
individual medal when he triumphed at the North Eastern Athletic
Conference (NEAC) Fall Challenge. During the month he was also named the
NEAC Golfer-of-the-Week three times for his efforts.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Tuesday October 6th
to compete in the Elmira College Fall Invitational hosted by the
Soaring Eagles at the par 72/6747 yard Elmira Country Club in Elmira,
N.Y.
