20th Annual ‘Teeny Awards’ Ceremony Takes Place at Riverhead High School on June 5, 2022

Theater students from 20 East End High Schools are awarded live and in-person for their performances during the 2021/2022 season in this Tony Awards-inspired tradition. 


Riverhead, New York - East End Arts & Humanities Council, Inc. presents the 20th Annual Teeny Awards on Sunday, June 5th at 3:00 p.m. at Riverhead High School, with the

live red carpet event beginning at 1:30 p.m. Nominees are announced live on Thursday, May 19 at 5:00pm on 101.7:The Beach radio. 


The 2022 Teeny Awards public ceremony returns the event to its traditional in-person format since going virtual in 2020-2021 due to COVID restrictions. The awards ceremony boasts in-person presenters, student and professional performers, and select guests. Hosted by former Teeny Awards Coordinator and professional dancer and choreographer, Anita Boyer, the event will feature esteemed individuals from the theatre community on the East End honoring the winners, and feature performances from schools and students from the 2021-2022 show season. The 2022 participating schools include: Bellport High School, Bridgehampton High School, Center Moriches High School, East Hampton High School, Greenport High School, Hampton Bays High School, Longwood High School, Mattituck High School, Mount Sinai High School, Miller Place High School, Newfield High School, Pierson High School (Sag Harbor), Riverhead High School, Rocky Point High School, Sachem East High School, Sachem High School North, Shelter Island High School, Southampton High School, Southold High School, and Westhampton Beach High School. 


The Teeny Awards is a high school theater recognition program founded and run by East End Arts since 2002. Now entering its 20th year, the program recognizes and celebrates talented theater students across the East End of Long Island. At the awards ceremony, students receive awards in traditional play and musical categories as well as categories for outstanding performer, choreography and poster design.
