Player of the Week

Josh Gregory, SUNY Poly

Senior / Whitesboro, New York

Josh Gregory had an outrageous week for the Wildcats. The senior averaged a 34.7 point, 10.3 rebound double-double in the Wildcat's three wins over Plattsburgh, Fredonia, and Pitt.-Bradford. On Tuesday, Gregory led his team to a win at Plattsburgh with a 31 point, 12 rebound double-double. His 31 points were a season-high to that point. Gregory topped that performance with a new career-high of 41 points in a win over Fredonia in the 2021 Harold J. Brodie Tournament at R.I.T on Saturday. Gregory then shot 64.7% from the field for a 32 point, 13 rebound double-double in the Championship game against Pitt.-Bradford on Sunday. His weekend performance earned him the Tournament MVP Award. Gregory also had seven steals, seven blocks, and six assists in the three games. 


Rookie of the Week

Lester McCarthy, SUNY Delhi

First-Year / Dobbs Ferry, New York


Lester McCarthy scored eight points and grabbed a rebound in 21 minutes of action against Williams College on Sunday. The first-year guard added an assist and three steals in the non-conference tilt against the NESCAC team.


Player of the Week

Chelsey Raven, SUNY Canton

Senior / Ogdensburg, New York

Chelsey Raven led all players with 26 points and 12 rebounds as the Roos defeated Clarkson University 69-54 in their lone game of the week. The win is just the second for SUNY Canton against Clarkson since the Roos became a four-year school and the first in nine years. Raven's 26 points are her highest total in a SUNY Canton uniform, while her 12 boards mark her second-highest rebounding total. The forward shot 12-for-18 from the field (66.7%), 1-for-2 from three-point range, and made her lone free throw while adding an assist, two blocks, and two steals. 


Rookie of the Week

Hannah Cater, SUNY Cobleskill

Sophomore / Schoharie, New York

Hannah Cater scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds, and blocked four shots in Cobleskill's 82-35 win over MCLA last Tuesday. The rookie forward also tallied an assist and a steal on the stat sheet. She connected on six-of-nine field goal attempts and both free throw opportunities as Cobleskill improved to 3-4 on the season.
