Clarkson cruises by Bard in Liberty League play

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Clarkson University built an early lead and cruised to a 21-0 victory over the Bard College women's lacrosse team on Friday afternoon in a Liberty League game.

The Golden Knights, who are receiving votes towards the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, improved to 10-2 and 4-1 in Liberty League play, while the Raptors fell to 4-7 and 0-4 in the league.

Clarkson scored 19 seconds into the game right off the draw with a strike by Christine Wright (Watertown, NY), who picked up her 32nd goal of the year. The hosts were up 5-0 less than six minutes into the game, including two more goals by Wright.

It was all Clarkson from there. It was 10-0 by the 18:21 mark of the first half and 13-0 at halftime.

The Golden Knights had a shot advantage of 42-4 and collected 24 groundballs to Bard's 13. Clarkson won 18 of 23 draw controls.

Wright led Clarkson with five goals and three assists; nine other players scored for Clarkson.

Kaylann Tran had seven saves in net and grabbed three ground balls for Bard.
