Early Literacy Events @ Flower Library, Events for Families @ Flower Library

Early Literacy Events @ Flower Library:

Toddler Paint (select Mondays @ 10:30am – 11:30am; for ages 1 to 4; location: Children’s Room): Creativity is one of the most important skills you can help develop in your child. With this in mind, join us for a class that is designed to expose children to the art experience through a variety of different painting projects. We will need the help of each participant’s caregiver! Event dates include:
o   2/3 – Snowflake Snowmen
o   2/10 – Comb Painting

Preschool Pals Story Time (Wednesdays @ 10:30am; for ages 3 to 5; location: Children’s Room): Join your library pals for an interactive program of stories, rhymes, and music! Caregivers are encouraged to participate in the fun. Program is followed by a simple craft for families to enjoy together. Event dates include:
o   2/5 – Big and Little
o   2/12 – Warm Hearts
o   2/19 – Snowmen
o   2/26 – Ms. Ashley’s Favorites

Mother Goose Story Time (Thursdays @ 10:30am; for ages birth to 2 AND are walking on their own; location: Story Time Room): Stories and songs for those toddlers who just want to go, go, go! This story time is immediately followed by a special play time! Event dates include:
o   2/6 – Big and Little
o   2/13 – Warm Hearts
o   2/20 – Snowmen
o   2/27 – Ms. Ashley’s Favorites


Events for Families: events listed below are open to a wide range of ages; all abilities are welcome!

Movie – Honey We Shrunk Ourselves (2/18 @ 5:30pm; location: South Reading Room): Introduce your kids to a loved classic by watching Honey We Shrunk Ourselves on our big screen TV! All ages welcome. From imdb.com: “Mischief device, created by Wayne Szalinski, messes up again – this time not the children have shrunk, but the adults themselves.” Rating: PG    Run time: 1 hour, 14 minutes

Teddy Bear Sleepover (SEE DATE INFORMATION BELOW; location: Children’s Room): It’s school break, and that means it’s vacation time for your teddy bears too! To help them celebrate, your favorite stuffed animals are invited to “sleep” over at the library!
o   Follow the adventures of our fluffy friends on Facebook. See posted photos on February 19th beginning at 5pm.
o   Caregivers, you may drop off teddy bears on 2/18 or 2/19. *ALL STUFFED ANIMALS MUST BE DROPPED OFF BY NOON ON 2/19! Teddy bears belonging to any age patron may participate.
