Coast Guard searches for missing boater off North Miami Beach
MIAMI – The Coast Guard received a report of a 23-foot boat capsizing with four people aboard in the vicinity of North Miami Beach, Fla., Saturday evening. Three of the people were able to swim to shore on their own.
Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received notification from the three people who swam to shore, in the vicinity of 63rd and Collins Avenue in North Miami Beach, that their vessel capsized and that one person was still missing. The missing boater was reportedly hanging on to a blue and white cooler and not wearing a personal flotation device.

Upon receiving the notification from the three people, Coast Guard Sector Miami issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and launched multiple rescue assets in partnership Coast Guard Air Station Miami, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and local fire and rescue crews.
