New York – Keith Lewis and Keylee Sanders, Co-Executive Directors of K2 Productions a franchise under the Miss Universe Organization, announced January 10th their esteemed team and judges for the 2013 MISS NEW YORK USA® and MISS NEW YORK TEEN USA® Competition, which will be held at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in Purchase, New York.  This two-day pageant will be held on January 19th and 20th, where 200 girls will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview all vying for the 2013 title.

“I can’t think of a better way to start off the New Year here in Westchester than by bringing back the Miss New York USA® Pageants for the second year in a row,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino.  “Thanks to the help of many dedicated partners, we are welcoming an event that attracts visitors, brings in tourism dollars and allows us to showcase the great things that Westchester County has to offer – like our spectacular venue, the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.”

“This pageant is not only about winning a crown or holding a title,” Astorino added. “It is about learning how to grow as a person and succeed in life by helping others. The Miss New York USA® Pageant encourages volunteerism, participation in the community and works to help young women obtain their dreams. We want
to congratulate all of this year’s contestants.  We are also thrilled to have Westchester natives Meagan Hester and Aja Mangum as part of this year’s team of distinguished judges.”

Lewis and Sanders stated, “It’s such an honor to have Westchester be our host city.  We are proud that all of our pageants celebrate such diversity and evolution for women.  New York, especially, brings the best crowds.  It’s such an adrenaline rush to be around all of this excitement, so we know our program must be top-notch.  This year we have increased the excitement with an exceptional show; which includes an amazing designer, talented makeup artists, gorgeous hosts and a very impressive roster of judges.”

K2 Productions chose famed Project Runway designer, Joshua McKinley, to spearhead the runway portion of the program.  McKinley’s challenge is to choose a theme and design for 40 ladies with absolutely no fit time.  The Top 20, in both Miss and Teen categories, chosen during finals night will wear McKinley’s designs to see who will be “in” and who will be “out”.   When McKinley was asked what he thought of this challenge, he simply stated, “Eat your heart out USA!”

Celebrity makeup artist Meaghan Hester, Westchester native, and contestant on this upcoming season’s Syfy Channel’s Face Off will complete the runway.  Hester’s team will be there to ensure the contestants put their best face forward.

Julissa Bermudez, from Style Network’s Empire Girls, and the current Miss New York Teen USA®, Sabrina Mastrangelo will co-host the Preliminary show, January 19th at 7pm.  Hosts for finals night, January 20th at 4pm, will be Susie Castillo, former Miss USA® and Julissa Bermudez.

New to this year's MISS NEW YORK USA® and MISS NEW YORK TEEN USA® program, fans from around the world can ask Final Questions via twitter by using #MissNYUSA.  Ten questions (5 for Miss and 5 for Teens) will be selected for the show and will be read along with corresponding twitter handles on stage during the final portion of the show.  The evening will conclude with Johanna Sambucini, MISS NEW YORK USA® and Sabrina Mastrangelo, MISS NEW YORK TEEN USA®, crowning their successors.
