USAID ADMINISTRATOR RAJ SHAH

Administrator Shah is on foreign travel to Nigeria through January 18 to meet with government officials and leaders in Nigeria’s private sector on new opportunities to accelerate growth and development. On January 17, Administrator Shah was in Abuja to launch a new agreement that will result in increased private financing for the country’s agriculture sector. On January 18, Administrator Shah will visit Lagos to meet with young entrepreneurs and business leaders in a townhall hosted by the Tony Elumelu Foundation. In addition, he will participate in roundtable discussions with Nigerian private sector leaders, youth entrepreneurs and energy sector representatives.

Under Secretary Otero is on foreign travel to Chile, Peru, and Uruguay through January 19 to meet with government officials and civil society representatives on a range of issues, including on human rights, TIP, social inclusion, youth engagement, democracy promotion, and counternarcotics efforts. In Santiago, Chile, she participates in the Second Regional Latin America Conference of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), organized by the Government of Chile, and delivers keynote remarks at a Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Day of Action. In Montevideo, Uruguay, she attends the soft launch of Embassy Montevideo’s Youth Council.
