Call for Artists!

 

Safe Harbors of the Hudson, in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, presents the 2nd Black Renaissance Festival, an exhibition of visual and performing arts amplifying and celebrating Black Voices on September 25, 2021 in conjunction with Newburgh Open Studios. 

This call is open to Black artists and allies in the performing arts and visual arts, to submit their work for a performance on Safe Harbors Green and exhibition in our Ann Street Gallery. Black artists may submit works of any media and subject; allies are asked to submit works relevant to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Submission and Audition Information: 
Submission Deadline - Monday, August 9th 2021 midnight EST

Performing Artists may either submit a performance video on Google Forms or attend an open audition
at Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz, 107 Broadway, Newburgh
July 17, 3 - 7 p.m.
August 7, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Exhibition Dates: 
Black Renaissance Festival & Performing Arts Showcase: September 25, 2021

Visual Arts Exhibition: 
Opening September 25, 2021 through November 20, 2021

Submission Instructions:
Each Artist may submit up to 3 works for selection.
Please include your name, title of work, media, and dimensions.

Notification:
Artists will be notified of selection by Monday, August 30, 2021
