TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – Top executives from the Dow Chemical Company, Honda Engineering, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, AB InBev, ABB and others, are set to take center-stage at one of the world’s largest industrial innovation technologies conference in Israel, unveiling their innovation strategies and discussing topics like: connected factories, industrial cybersecurity, and 3D printing. This is an indication that the Startup Nation has become a global center for smart manufacturing innovation.
Taking place between February 24-27, 2020 at the Expo Tel Aviv, Israel Industry 4.0 (II4) Week will see top executives from multinational industrial giants engaging in a weeklong series of events with over 30 of the country’s most exciting startups in the Industry 4.0 field.
Established in 2018 by tech NGO Start-Up Nation Central, venture capital firm Grove, and Deloitte
(consulting firm), II4 Week showcases the emerging I4 sector in Israel, which from 2014 has grown by 70% to 260 startups, and 480% in funding, from $112M to $650M by the end of 2019. The 2019 financial figure accounts for 6% of global VC-backed financing into the I4 industry, according to Start-Up Nation Finder, and Pitchbook.
30 Israeli I4 startups will exhibit their innovations in predictive maintenance, industrial cybersecurity, safe and reliable autonomous mobility, “factory of the future”, laser sensors, remote monitoring, and many other disciplines that boost production efficiency. Highlights of II4 Week 2020 include tailored networking opportunities, a Leaders Forum, a startup expo, corporate workshops, pitching arenas, hackathons, and community events. There will also be maritime innovation and construction technologies showcases and events.
Throughout the weeklong series of events, some of the multinationals will announce their new activity in Israel.

Schneider is sending one of its top executives, Raja Ramana Macha, Sr. Vice President & CTO of Industrial Automation, as a keynote speaker at the conference. Other prominent speakers include Tomomi Kosaka, President of Honda Engineering, and Billy B. Bardin, Global Operations Technology Director for the Dow Chemical Company.
Start-Up Nation Central’s Head of Strategic Sector Development, Yariv Lotan, points to the level of attendees and startups as evidence that Israel’s reputation for world-beating innovation in areas like cybersecurity, Agri-Food tech, AI, autonomous mobility, and digital health, is now extending to the industrial and smart manufacturing space. “The startups currently active in Israel’s Industry 4.0 ecosystem are set to chart the future of production innovation,” Mr. Lotan said.
