WYNDMOOR, Pa. – Sophomore Tanner Mingen (Houston, Texas) scored four goals for the Wells College men's lacrosse team in its 18-7 loss to Bryn Athyn College at La Salle College High School on Sunday. Wells falls to 1-7 overall on the year and to 0-3 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Bryn Athyn moves to 5-3 and to 1-2 against league foes.

With four goals, Mingen reached a career-high mark and later added an assist in the contest. Junior Alex Milliken (Hilton, N.Y.) potted two goals while sophomore Aaron Heisey (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) scored once and added a team-leading 11 ground balls for Wells. Heisey also won 14-of-28 face-offs for the Express, tying a career-high mark.

Wells exited the first quarter trailing by a 2-1 margin, but a 5-0 scoring run by the Lions to open the second quarter stymied any chance of a comeback. The Lions would open up a 9-2 lead at the half and never look back, scoring five goals in the third quarter and four goals in the final stanza.

Wells was outshot by a 40-to-27 margin and the host Lions picked up 34 ground balls, opposing the Express' 31.

Express netminder Zachary Simone (Johnstown, N.Y.) made a career-high 14 saves for Wells, drawing the loss after yielding 18 goals on 32 total shots. Robert Moran turned aside 11 shots for the Lions, earning his fifth goalkeeping victory of the year.

Wells returns to action Wednesday, Apr. 13 as it travels to SUNY Canton for a 4 p.m. tilt.
