U.S. Wins Three Golds, Four Total Medals at World Rowing Junior Championships

For the first time in history, the U.S. squad took home three gold medals from the World Rowing Junior Championships, winning the men's eight, women's eight and women's four with coxswain in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Isaiah Harrison added a bronze medal in the men's single sculls to give the Americans four total medals at the 2021 World Rowing Junior Championships.

Debrecen, Hungary (Aug. 14, 2021) – The USA Women’s U19 World Cup Team (6-0) opened up a 20-point halftime lead and ran away with a 75-42 semifinal victory over host Hungary (4-1) on Saturday evening in Debrecen, Hungary. The win advanced the USA to a ninth-straight FIBA U19 World Cup for Women gold medal game, a streak that dates to 2005.

Constanta, Romania (Aug. 14, 2021) – Getting edged out by Canada (2-0) 12-10 in its first game, before earning a 15-9 win over host Romania (0-2) in its second and final group matchup on Saturday, the USA (1-1) will enter the quarterfinals as Pool B’s No. 2 seed at the 2021 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Constanta Stop in Constanta, Romania.

Two more Olympic wrestling medalists from the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, have notified USA Wrestling that they will accept their position on the U.S. World Team that will compete at the 2021 Senior World Championships in Oslo, Norway, October 2-10.

Harrison Wins Semi, Advances to Final on Saturday at World Rowing Junior Championships

Men's single sculler Isaiah Harrison (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) used his power to methodically row down Lithuania's Povilas Juskevicius over the back half of his semifinal on Saturday, earning the victory and a spot in Sunday's final at the 2021 World Rowing Junior Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Harrison will join six other U.S. crews in tomorrow's medal races.
