Bayuk, Tommell and Porter Crack Top 10 to Lead Fighting Tigers to Victory

Milton, N.Y. - The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross country team ran to victory on Saturday posting their first invitational win of the season as the Fighting Tigers accumulated a team total of 92 points to outdistance a field of 28 teams at the 2016 Mount Saint Mary's College Invitational hosted by the Blue Knights at The Hudson Valley Sports Dome on Saturday.

Freshman Emma Bayuk, Sandy Hook, Conn., Newtown High School, continued her stellar rookie season placing second overall in the 168 runner field by covering the 6000-meter course in a time of 24:23 followed by her senior teammate Taylor Tommell, Guilderland, N.Y., Guilderland High School, who placed fourth overall in a time of 24:58 with sophomore Quinn Porter, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, taking seventh place in a time of 25:59.

Rounding out the scoring for the Orange & Black were freshman Abigail O'Brien, Stockton, N.Y., Cassadaga Valley High School, who placed 31st in 28:20 and senior Alyssa Riewerts, Lindenhurst, N.Y., Lindenhurst High School, in 54th place in 29:43.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday October 15 when they travel to Springfield, Mass. for the 2016 Western New England College invitational hosted by Western New England College at the school's campus cross country course beginning at 10:30 a.m.
