ANTON, NY — The Vassar College women's lacrosse team fell 17-7 at St. Lawrence University on Friday afternoon.

With the loss, the Brewers fall to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while the Saints improve to 7-6 and 3-2 in the Liberty League.

Isabelle Goldstein led Vassar with four points on three goals and an assist, while Storm Sideleau and
Julia Trudell netted two apiece. On the season, Goldstein has 20 goals and a team-high 21 assists, Sideleau has a team-high 27 goals, and Trudell has 20 goals and 10 assists.

Brittany Botticelli led the defensive effort with a game-high five ground balls to go with a forced turnover and a draw control.

Goalkeeper Kristin Caolo took the loss with four saves, while Olga Lukas earned the win with three, as the Saints outshot the Brewers 27-17.

Kiera Taussig and Abigail Owens led St. Lawrence with three goals apiece, while Caroline Bailey and Chloe Knapp each potted two. Kara Hurley, Michaela Maybee, Alli Cornell-Roberts, Julia Mitiguy, Ashley Norris, Kayla Schmalz and Olivia Slade all tallied goals as well.

The Brewers never led, as the Saints jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Then about halfway through the first half, Sideleau put the Brewers on the board with an unassisted shot. St. Lawrence responded with an additional four straight points before Goldstein found Trudell for a goal before scoring one on her own, 7-3.

The Saints outscored the Brewers 2-1 to end the half, with Goldstein breaking up the scoring with a goal in isolation.

Just like St. Lawrence had done in the first half, it struck first in the second with a goal. But Vassar responded right away with a shot from Sideleau to trim the lead in half, 10-5. The Saints outscored the Brewers 7-2 the rest of the way, with Trudell and Goldstein breaking up the scoring.
