HAMILTON, N.Y. – Three
members of the Wells College men's cross country team competed at the
Hamilton College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Hamilton
College Golf Course. Wells did not qualify for a team score, falling two
runners shy of qualifying collectively.
Senior Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) placed 107th out of 173 entrants, posting an 8K time of 29:47.7 after averaging a six mile pace. Freshman Antonio D'Arpino (Auburn, N.Y.) was second out of Wells entries, posting a time of 31:05.2, while classmate Ross Cobb (So. Burlington, Vt.) turned in a time of 35:03.4.
The host Continentals from Hamilton College captured first place as a team while Zakaria Djouma, a freshman from Mohawk Valley Community College, captured first place with a time of 25:12.6.
Wells returns to action Saturday, Oct.
17 as they compete at the Cross Country Only Championships, held at
Seneca Lake State Park, beginning at 12 p.m.
