For four seasons and 101 episodes, Osment played the unstoppable Lilly Truscott on the Disney Channel original series “Hannah Montana.” Before ending its remarkable run, the show’s success was captured on the big screen with “Hannah Montana, The Movie.” Osment followed with “Dadnapped,” a Disney Channel original movie in which she played Melissa, the daughter of a well-known novelist. For this film, Osment also sang the theme song, “Hero in Me.” Osment continued to demonstrate her acting and singing talents with another lead role in “The Haunting Hour-Don’t Think About It,” the first of a new series of films based on R.L Stine’s “Goosebumps” novels. For this film she performed the hit song “I Don’t Think About It.”
Born on March 10th, 1992, in Los Angeles, Osment has been reared among a family of actors. Her father is an accomplished stage actor who has appeared in numerous television and film productions, and her brother, Haley, is an Oscar-nominated film actor recently graduated from NYU Tisch. Her mother is a highly-respected public school educator.
Osment booked her first commercial job at the age of five and starred in numerous commercials before landing a role in the feature film “The Secret Life of Girls” with Linda Hamilton and Eugene Levy. Then, Osment co-starred in the Hallmark movie “Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winter’s End” with Glenn Close, Christopher Walken and the late Jack Palance. Early television credits include guest appearances on “Friends,” “Third Rock From The Sun” and “Touched By and Angel.” At the age of nine she earned the attention of audiences everywhere for her role as Gerti Giggles in the Robert Rodriguez films “Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams” and “Spy Kids 3-D Game Over.” More recent films include “Soccer Mom,” ABC Family’s “Cyberbully” and Jeff Probst’s “Kiss Me.”
Osment also lends her voice to the animated films “Holidaze: The Christmas That Almost Didn’t Happen,” “Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame II,” “Jungle Book 2,” “Edward Fudwupper Fibbed Big,” “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2,” “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3,” Disney XD’s “Kick Buttowski,” Academy Award-winning “From Up On Poppy Hill” and “Family Guy.”
Osment is also a singer/songwriter and was previously signed with Wind-Up Records where she wrote two solo albums, “All The Right Wrongs” and “Fight or Flight,” and toured worldwide in 2010 at the age of 18. She has now formed a band independently by the name of Ramshackle, which currently plays locally in Los Angeles while Osment completes her academic career at President Barack Obama’s alma mater, Occidental College. In her spare time, she snowboards, surfs, golfs and hangs out with her four dogs at her home in Los Angeles.
