Oxnard, California – The American Tall Ship Institute calls on the community to enjoy a pirate adventure while supporting education. On Saturday, March 2, the American Tall Ship Institute (ATSI) is having a Pirate Gala Haul-Out Party. The annual event will be a fundraiser for their tallship, Bill of Rights, and all proceeds of the event will go toward the biennial Coast Guard required haul-out and maintenance. The “Bill” is in need of repair, and won’t be able to do summer programs without completing this haul out.
The Pirate Gala promises to be an adventure including sword fighting, live music, dancing, raffles, live and silent auctions, a no-host bar and heavy hors-devours. “It's going to be a blast,” said Emily King, ATSI's Fundraising Director who is coordinating the event. “We’ve worked hard to make this a memorable and fun event, but we need to raise the money to haul out the Bill of Rights this Spring, or our programs could suffer.”
Many in the community have been doing their part to see this event’s success. The Channel Islands Yacht Club is donating the space and handling the bar. The Club is located at 4100 Harbor Blvd., Oxnard, CA 93035.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.americantallship.org or reserved by calling 805-436-7805. Businesses/ individuals interested in sponsoring or donating items for the auctions should call the same number.
